I am sitting here thinking about what has
happened in the last year. Before I go into that,
let me tell you a bit about myself.
I am a mother a 2 wonderful girls and a grandmother
of 1 grandson. In the real world I have worked for the
past 17 years as a Licensed Pratical Nurse.
For most of their childhood, I was a single mother,
always scraping the bottom of the barrel to give them
what they needed. Sometimes they never got it but
the one thing that was constant was the love, respect
and support we gave each other.
I reflect back on those days with much pride. No matter
how difficult life was, we always had fun doing things
together as a family. I remember tucking them in at
night after reading a story, hugging them when they hurt
themselves and telling them it is ok, crying and laughing
together, playing games, going to see them playing
basketball, volleyball, going to concerts and school events.
Memories of those days will be forever etched in my mind.
Mother's Day was always a favorite for me because I would
get a hand made card from each of them. I still have ever
card they made for me. Once in awhile I will go
through them. It always puts a smile on my face.
Then I was blessed with a grandson, Joshua. I was in the
delivery room when he was born and I cut his cord.
What an awesome feeling.
The only difference this time around was I had more time
to spend with him than with my girls. Funny how that works.
My most precious memories of my grandson are making up
bedtime stories. He loved the once upon a time stories that
I would make up and tell him at bedtime. Then of course I
would fall asleep with his little hands on my face.
What lovely memories. Even today at age 13, when he comes
to visit or I go to visit them, he loves for me to tell him stories
of the things he did as a baby.
In 1998, I decided I would try my hand at network marketing,
offline. I joined a company and started my business with a fair
amount of success. I recruited like crazy, promoted to manager
in a short period of time. I helped my people get to the same
position as manager in the company.
Then something happened. My paycheck got smaller.
Ok, so being in a stair step breakaway, I did not fully
understand how it worked. So now I had to go out and
recruit some more. I recruited 5 more people in a short
period of time. Again, My paycheck got smaller.
For years I struggled, with my business, trying different
companies spending more time and money than I had on
trying to make it successful. I was blaming myself for my
lack of success.
Back in February of 2007, I came across an e-book that has
turned my business life around. After Reading the e-book and
getting in on the free training, I understood what was hapening.
The Business Model drove the behaviour of Recruit, Recruit, Recruit.
The Comp Plan was designed to pay most of the money back to
the company. I could not be successful in that kind of a business
model.
My forehead still hurts from the slaps.
